Today I participated in an off-campus trip with my daughter’s classroom. We are being immersed in teaching from the past and the future. While looking at some “artifacts” (or quiet-reading wearing museum gloves, and handling old books), I came across this handwritten note. It was in the margin of a 1930 copy of “The Merchant of Venice”.
In case you can’t read it from the photo, it says, “you trouble yourself too much about what people think of you, and loose all enjoyment in the world by caring too much for it’s good opinion”
I wonder who wrote it? I wonder who it was written for? It’s learning from the past, that is applicable for today and the future. To the unknown author of the margin note: we thank you. Well said.
