We all have questions, and sometimes the answer is “I don’t know”.
The “I don’t know” spot we find ourselves in while questioning, is actually a spot. It does not mean you are stuck because you don’t know. It means you are in a place of being open to possibilities and can let the knowing fill you, as it becomes available. “I don’t know” allows space to try things on and consciously decide. “I don’t know” is a place of confidence, strength, vulnerability and exploration. “I don’t know” is a place of abundance, not lack.
“I beg you… to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don’t search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer…”
-Rainer Maria Rilke
What question are you living?
