I am back in the saddle again! After a Summer and Fall of ongoing technical issues and frustration, I FINALLY have full access to my website again, and am migrated to a new webhost who can meet my needs. What’s important about this?–I’ll tell you.
I avoided these technical tasks for a long time. I kept hoping that the red flags I was noticing would “resolve themselves”, so I would not have to float into galaxies that were unfamiliar. I kept hoping the glitches would be temporary. They weren’t. So by the time I was compelled to take action, there were several issues that required my attention and I was overwhelmed. Also by this point, several of the website features had become inoperable, and I was frustrated that my ability to “reach out” through my website had been silenced. Even with all this negative impact, I had to bribe myself to get started, and once I did, the momentum began to build and I was able to complete all the tasked that were required.
This is not a post about procrastination (although it could be). It is a post to stretch my legs, and recover my voice. It is a post to celebrate tenacity and the ability to ask for help, and never give up. It is a compassionate reminder that things are never “too-far gone”, and that ignoring things does not make them disappear. So while I write you, I am celebratory and exhausted. Whew! Mission Accomplished!!
Are you ignoring anything that needs your attention? How can you will yourself to get started?
